Filibustering

You know, trying to collect 20mm Moderns is a bit like being stuck in a late 70's/early 80's timewarp. All reminiscent of Life on Mars but without the nostalgia or WPCs.

So, once again we have been turning our time and creativity elsewhere and in this case to a bit of Filibusterin' in 28mm. And we've been amazingly productive as a result. Above you see some of the first Filibusters - what we would call 'Contractors' today. Yup, guns and morals were equally for hire in the 1840/50s. And, below is my rough mind map of how to get the max out of my burgeoning Winter of 1839 'Chartist' collection.

And most importantly, we are having fun.

Cheers
Mark

  1. Great Stuff. If you haven't already seen them check out the Boot Hill Miniatures, Alamo range, very nice figures and the Texan Adventurers could easly fill for several periods/genre, I'm thinking of adding a few to our Legends of the Old West games set 1870/80's. Also Conquest Miniatures small 19thC range particularly the Comanches would work nice for this period 1840/50's(if you want to include Native Americans?).

  2. Best wishes!
Reading the title I was thinking of Lafitte and the 1812.

  4. Thanks Gents, if you look at Mark's mind map, there isnt much we arent looking at; Mark is more Chartist minded than me - I studied them at O, A and degree level, so almost chunder in boredom when they are mentioned. That said, its a broad field and there is a lot of crossover - my mexicans will do as any moustachioed chilli/garlic favouring chaps in shako, while Bell Top shakoed Brits seem to have got all over the place.

    Cheers
